Cruisin' for a Cure is being held in honor of Theresa Hobbs, aunt of Brianna.  Theresa was diagnosed in October, 2007 with Stage IV NSCLC, (Non Small Cell Lung Cancer).  By the time she was diagnosed the cancer had already spread to the lymphnodes and brain.  She has since undergone 10 rounds of radiation to the brain, chemo treatments, and also, stereotactic radiation to the brain.  Her prognosis is terminal, but she has fought hard everyday to prove the medical field wrong. Early detection possibly could have kept this beast within the confines of the lung.  After all of her treatments, her cancer diagnosis is stable, meaning that it has not grown, but it also did not have much change since the onset of this disease.  

She continues her battle daily so that she can see her children at least graduate from high school.  She is married to John, has two children Emily, 16 and Jarrett, 13.  She also has one daughter Andrya, who died in a very tragic car accident June 19, 2003.  She was 18 years old.
